Viðbrögð mín við þessari frétt
To: microsoft@microsoft.com
Subject: A business proposal
Dear Mr. Bill Gates,
I am an Icelandic man, and I run a company called "Global solutions for interactive electronic devices" here in Iceland. I have been using Microsoft products since the dawn of the computer age. I even remember products like Microsoft Office 2000, but that's not the reason for this email. I just heard in the news that Microsoft is going to show other people the source code to their applications, so I was wondering if you could please send me the source code to an application called "Microsoft Windows" that you make. I could even change the name of the application and sell it here in Iceland under that name (maybe Microsoft Doors?) Please let me know if you are interested in this, and I think this might be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Best regards,
Böðvar Hlöðversson CEO

Athugasemdir
Reyndar skilst mér að þeir ætli að opna eitthvað af kóðanum sjálfum. En þú þarft að skrifa undir eitthvað sem þeir kalla "Trade License Agreement" eða eitthvað á þá leið. Inniheldur sennilega klausu sem hljómar eitthvað á þessa leið:
"You agree to never, ever, ever develope software for any platform other than MS Windows. Upon signing this agreement all your base belong to us [and your first-born child as well as 98% of any revenue you may receive by any means at all]."
